Jacqueline West is the author of the NYT-bestselling series,The Books of Elsewhere, the middle grade fantasy The Collectors, and the middle grade mystery Digging up Danger, as well as the YA novels Dreamers Often Lie and Last Things.
Jacqueline's debut, The Shadows (The Books of Elsewhere: Volume One), follows the adventures of eleven-year-old Olive Dunwoody as she travels to Elsewhere, the world inside the antique paintings on the walls of the old stone house on Linden Street. In addition to being a NYT Bestseller, The Shadows was a Junior Library Guild Selection, a Minnesota Book Award Finalist, the 2010 CYBILS Award for Fantasy/SciFi, and an Indi Next List Top Ten Pick.
Dreamers Often Lie is a dark and twisty YA romance that braids Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream into a modern-day teen's life. Last Things (due out May 2019), is "a suspenseful tale wrought from power chords, creeping darkness, and disquieting twists.” (Kirkus)
The Collectors is a contemporary middle-grade fantasy that Booklist called “a brilliant fantasy adventure exploring the consequences of getting what you wish for." It is a 2019 Schneider Family Book Award Honor Book.
Her latest middle grade book, Digging Up Danger, received a starred review from Kirkus and was named an Amazon Editors’ Best Book of the Month. West is an award-winning poet, former high school English teacher, and occasional actress, Jacqueline lives with her family in Red Wing, Minnesota.
