SPECIAL THANKS TO ACUITY!
The Sheboygan Children and Teen's Book Festival has received a special $15,000 grant from the Acuity Charitable Foundation, which will support M.T. Anderson presenting at Literally Acuity on Friday, October 11, 2019. Thank you Acuity for supporting us!
Literally Acuity is a new teen author event presented by Acuity and Sheboygan County Reads! as part of the 2019 Sheboygan Teen Book Festival. Thanks to the generous grant, this event will be free for Sheboygan area high school students to attend. The grant will also cover busing of students to Acuity.
M. T. Anderson’s book Feed, a futuristic satirical novel widely lauded as one of the most important and pioneering works of the recent dystopian craze, is frequently used in high school curricula. A finalist for the National Book Award, Feed also received the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for YA fiction in 2003 and a Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor. M.T. Anderson’s other works include the recent National Book Award finalist, The Assassination of Brangwain Spurge; The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Volume I: The Pox Party (a National Book Award Winner); and Volume II: The Kingdom on the Waves, among many other acclaimed and award-winning titles. You can learn more about M.T. Anderson here.
At Literally Acuity, students can expect to learn about the career of a writer, the writing process and more about the book Feed and its themes. There will also be some time for student questions for the author.
